Research and Practice

We lead and collaborate on research-led projects that explore new approaches to storytelling, engagement and creative practice.

This work allows us to test ideas, ask questions and develop ways of working that are thoughtful, ethical and grounded in real contexts. Sometimes this takes the form of a public-facing project; other times it results in learning, frameworks or resources that help others create more meaningful work of their own.

Research gives us space to slow down, reflect and experiment - ensuring our creative practice continues to evolve with care.

Our research and practice projects often sit at the intersection of culture, technology and participation. We work closely with partners to explore how people connect with stories, places and memories, and how organisations can engage audiences in ways that feel responsible, inclusive and human.

Projects may include working directly with communities, developing digital tools or resources, or collaborating with universities and heritage organisations to explore emerging questions and challenges.

How We Approach Research & Practice

We aim to:

  • Work in partnership, not isolation

  • Balance experimentation with responsibility

  • Share learning in accessible and useful ways

  • Ensure research feeds back into real-world creative practice

This work directly informs how we design interactive experiences, public engagement projects and creative facilitation - strengthening everything we do.
